Sweets and treats

I wanted to share another card I made with the sweets & treats sets from LAD's new release. I thought the gum balls spilling from the machine were a fun accent and a little different.

Day 3 of sneak peeks!

the last day the sneak peeks! you can finally them! what a great release! definately one of the best - but then again I think I say that each time! First up is the super girl saying - she so needed something cute to go with her! I'm so glad they added this stamp - it is perfect for so many different things! My second card today is from In the Parlor, love this lamp! it has Shimmerz all around the lamp. I crumpled up the ribbon and sewed it with my machine...yep I finally combined the two worlds finally and I love it! The last card is from Sweets and Treats - a very yummy set! I used the top of the ice cream cone to make a cupcake. I used my crimper to make the base look crinkled like a cupcake wrapper should be. I also love that the image is on the inside of the card and shows through to the front. A very simple yet fun twist on the card! Enjoy all the peeks today!

Tri-fold Card

I love tri-fold cards, you can see the inside corner with the rose peaking out. Just a fun little twist on the average card. Tattoo stamp is from LAD. The tri-fold adds one more layer of dimension without adding too much bulk - which is good for mailing.

Contest

Have you checked out the Lizzie Anne blog lately? They have a fun contest going on in anticipation of their new release at the end of the week. I'll have some fun things to show as the sneak peeks begin on Wednesday! They have wonderful stamps as always!

Spring Card Class

We'll be making this card at my spring card class on the 28th. I'm working on the rest of the cards today. The request was for cards that are easy to duplicate at home...I think this one fits the bill!

the bunny

my dad made this cake just about every year for Easter growing up.i was so excited get the mold (finally) and make it for my girls. last year was the first year I tried it and well - it fell apart - i don't think it even made it out of the pan - just straight to the garbage. this year i used the "right" cake, and well i was leery just taking it out of the oven - it was sooooo heavy, but pound cakes aren't light right? i knew i should have made an alternative dessert when the front legs stuck in the pan - i should have stopped there and done something else. but nooooooo, i had to keep going, i glued them back on with frosting and began decorating the bunny. i started with a star tip or what was supposed to be a star tip - but it was more square and chunky and well, it didn't look good. so i smooshed the frosting and gave the bunny fluff. not horrible for my first try, but well - i think my dad needs to join us for Easter next year so he can make the cake! this one ended up in the garbage...need i say more? the eggs around the base are from bakerella only shaped into eggs instead of little animals or put on sticks. they were ok - not as good as usual. so it was a really good thing miss R brought a pie to share for dessert even thought Rob didn't' want to share. thanks for sharing!

Easter Fun

I've seen lots of wreaths with Easter eggs on them. I've wanted one for a long time. I've thought about making my own, but didn't want to buy the wreath to start it. Then I decided to look around my house and see what I could make it from without buying anything. I used a leftover tinfoil pizza pan from when I made pizza for my dinner co-op. The ribbon was in my ribbon bag and the grass, well - I've had that forever! So my girls and I went to work and this is the end result. I'm so happy with it!

Birthday

I love this card...i love this paper... i love the scallop....i love those buttons! This card just came together, I think it started as a sketch, but now I can't find that sketch. the paper is from LAD, and scallop from my nestabilities, and the button are from my stash. I have lots of circle buttons, but i think that little flower button is the perfect touch!

April 1st

Do you play pranks on April 1st? I only have once...i think i may have gotten grounded for doing it. My brother and I hid his car, a put make on his face to look like bruises and he put ketchup on his shirt to look like blood. when my mom got home, we told her he'd been in an accident. I don't remember too much else, but i remember trying not to laugh when he told her.

This card uses Damask from Lizzie Anne Designs. I love the color combo here - a olive-y/kiwi green has become one of my new favorite colors! especially paired with SU soft sky....I so wish I would have stocked up on that color. I thought I did, but now i'm realizing it wasn't enough!
